2014 Big Bang South East satellite events
These events, at the Big Bang South East and Adur & Worthing Big Bang satellite fairs, provided the opportunity to engage smaller group audiences in different ways.
2013 & 2014 Big Bang Fair Science and Engineering Fair
Having been spotted at the 2011 British Science Festival, we were invited by the British Psychological Society to take part in the 2013, and subsequently 2014, Big Bang Fairs. These were four-day, hands-on, interactive demonstration events.

A two-day hands-on event, part of the ‘Psychological Observatory’ resulting from our participation in the Manchester Science Festivals. Invited to ‘Best of the Festival’ evening event.
2010-14 Nottingham widening participation events
We have been involved in several local widening participation schemes, aimed at pre-tertiary adolescents, including Brain Awareness Weeks & Sutton Trust summer schools.
2010 – MayFest community open day
A University of Nottingham public engagement science event aimed at the local community. It was here that we discovered our illusions could alter pain states
2009 & 2010 – Manchester Science Festival
These single-day events resulted from researchers in Manchester hearing about our work and inviting us to demonstrate at two successive events in ‘Psychology Corner’.
